The Evelyn Kosnithsky Shield is in honour of Evelyn Koshnitsky BEM who dedicated her life to promoting chess across Australia.   Together with her husband Gary, an Australian Chess Champion, she was greatly responsible for promoting the SA Junior Chess League and encouraged many thousands of juniors to take up chess for life.

 

This invitation-only event brings together 8 teams of 8 players from schools who took part in the A and B Grade Inter-school matches for 3 hours of chess (4 rounds from 4pm-7pm).  Invitations to take part in the event will be sent out once the all the Inter-school M<atches are finished.
